The Bridal Fashion Shoot . . .

Good morning... and happy Monday!!

Whoa, this weekend went by so fast... it almost doesn't seem like there was a weekend at all, but that's nothing new right? hehehe... This weekend I volunteered my makeup services to a bridal fashion show in camarillo... it was a great experience, and I got to work with all different skin types... some that I had never worked with before so I am VERY glad I participated in this event... PLUS it was so much fun to see your finished work on the "runway" they had for the models... My favorite part of the day was when we thought the job was done and all the other girls had pretty much finished packing up their kits, a girl walked in about 10 minutes before the show was going to start, asking if she still had time for makeup...

I was the only one left with my kit fully ready, so I took her. I've never done makeup in such a little amount of time. The best part? She was stunningly beautiful, so making her look pretty took no time at all... but we did have her in hair and makeup simultaneously... here she is in the final stages of hair:
{gorgeous right? -- even before the false eyelashes...}

and here are just a few more pictures from the day...

{my kit}

{and the runway...}

{me & the girls in my class after a long day}

not a bad Saturday at all... So much fun!!

Eat, Pray, Love Lancome's Newest Pretty Woman Ambassadress on Oprah Monday!

Actress Julia Roberts, known around the world for her talent, charm and smile, is the newest LancĂ´me ambassadress.  Take a look at Lancome online and peek at some of her favorite products: Dual Finish Versatile Powder Makeup in Matte Linen I, Definicils High Definition Mascara in Black and L'Absolu RougeAdvanced Replenishing & Reshaping Lipcolor Pro-Xylane SPF 12 Sunscreen in Fleur Impressioniste.

Julia will be on Oprah Monday, May 24th talking about her highly anticipated adaption of "Eat, Pray, Love," which by the way I am chomping at the bit to see! I mean, seriously cannot wait for this to come out.

Eat, Pray, Love is one of those books that has the ability to completely change the reader's life.  Written by author Elizabeth Gilbert, the best-selling memoir takes us along for what becomes a very personal, spiritual journey.

Liz Gilbert (Julia Roberts) had everything a modern woman was supposed to dream of having - a husband, a house, a successful career - yet like so many others, she found herself lost, confused, and searching for what she really wanted in life. Newly divorced and at a crossroads, Gilbert steps out of her comfort zone, risking everything to change her life, embarking on a journey around the world that becomes a quest for self-discovery. One might say, the female version of the sterotypical male mid-life crisis. In her travels, she discovers the true pleasure of nourishment by eating in Italy; the power of prayer in India; and finally and unexpectedly, the inner peace and balance of true love in Bali.  Eat, Pray, Love proves there really is more than one way to let yourself go and see the world.

Eat, Pray, Love ... Let Yourself Go! The film stars Julia Roberts, James Franco, Richard Jenkins, Viola Davis, Billy Crudup and Javier Bardem. Adapted to film by Sony Pictures and directed by Ryan Murphy, it will open in theatres August 13, 2010

Timely, isn't it? As the summer begins to set and autumn's trees and foliage soon change colors in preparation for the death of one period and the gestation of another full of promise and rejuvenation. Well, while you're waiting for what hopes to be a spectacular film experience, tune in to Oprah Monday and hear what Julia has to share about marriage, family, her new film and hopefully some deliciousness about her new role as Lancome ambassadress.

For more information about Julia's confident, naturally elegant look, visit Lancome USA online for the products, how-to tips and the behind-the-scenes video.

REVIEW: Infusion Organique Sands of Morocco Parfum

Exotic and sweet!

Sands of Morocco is blended using fresh vanilla first brought to Morocco by the French in the time of the Berber Kings and incorporates aromatic sandalwood and warm oak moss with a touch of organic lemongrass oil and ylang-ylang to create a warm, rich scent drenched in sweetness.

If you're one who likes a subtle fragrance, this is not for you. However, if you're of the variety who adores being transported with one slow inhalation to lands exotic, where images of robed men and women atop camels crossing the ancient Sahara bearing spice-filled ceramic bowls laden in gold and hand-laid enamel, then Sands of Morocco is your magical elixir.  With its warmth, sweet, rich character, this is a decidedly autumn/winter scent, though those of you living in cool, moderate climates yearlong may be able to indulge in this exotic aroma with more regularity.

Notes
Top: tangy lemon zests
Middle: delicate lily of the valley, sweet rose blossoms, ylang-ylang
Bottom: creamy french vanilla, exotic musk, sensual sandalwood, warm oakmoss

Infusion Organique's packaging is exquisite. In fact, their beautiful bottles, containers and boxes may call to you before you even have a chance to breathe in their aromatic scents. The brand is the passionate brainchild of industry veterans Ron Chavers and Carole Vialars, brought to visual life under the astute art direction of Carole's sister, Gladys.

They are quick to point out that their products are not 100% organic (insomuchas losing even a bit of efficacy was not in their mantra), but are paraben and sulfate free and infused with organic botanicals, fruit extracts and leading-edge scent/science skincare. These scents are not quick to fade so a little dab on pulse points will linger for hours upon your skin.

Infusion Organique offers four scents currently; in addition to Sands of Morocco there are:
  • Buddha's Fig - infused with certified organic fig extract, rose-geranium essence, organic lemongrass oil and blended with essences of wood and amber
  • Indochine - combines kumquat (Chinese for "golden orange") with peach, water lily, jasmine, muguet and vanilla, as well as certified organic grapefruit extract and ylang-ylang essential oils
  • Acai Rain - infused with tart berry accords of certified organic acai extract and sparkling organic orange oil with a blending of natural raspberry and currant, white peach, fresh greens and organic vanilla extract

Each scent is available in a petit parfum ($35), hand soap ($18), hand & body lotion ($20), home fragrance ($18), candle ($38) and scent diffuser ($56/$90).

For more information on the brand, visit Infusion Organique online and to shop their selection of beautifully fragranced products, visit b-glowing and Apothia.

T G I-Fill In The Blank Friday!!!

That means the weekend is almost here... Saturday {tomorrow}I have a bridal fashion show I am doing makeup for, which means I have to be there at 8:15 in the morning!! No sleeping in for me... but it's gonna be a blast!! I am definitely going to bring my camera to this one!!! Other than that, the weekend should be fantastically chill...

Anyways, on with the blanks!!
{have you played along yet? if not, today is the day to start!! here}

{random photo of my shoobies and new favorite purse}

1.  One fashion trend I really regret is denim floppy hats with fake flowers glued to the front. I wore these religiously... oh, and my thick-framed round coke-bottle glasses... there were NO cool styles for kids back then.

2.  The one thing that always completes any outfit is  jewelry or a cute hair accessory. It can make a so-so outfit turn into your favorite outfit with the right accessories!!

3.  I would describe my personal style as  Laid back California girl with a little glam here and there. I love me some jeans, a cute cotton top and some flashy sandals... with my hair just blown dry like I was at the beach all day... I only curl it when I'm going somewhere special...  I do LOVE me some rockin' makeup and hair for the right occasion.
{See what I mean about the messy hair?}

4.  My fashion muse is  Lauren Conrad. She is friggin gorgeous and it doesn't look like it takes her forever to get that look {though it probably does - haha}. I just love her laid back style, and I want her hair!!!!

5.  If I could own one designer piece of clothing it would be   Hmmmmmmmmmmm either a beautiful Coach purse or a dress from Oscar De La Renta...

6.  I would love to raid the wardrobe of  Hmmmm this may sound funny, but I would LOVE to go through Beyonce's closet. I think her style is mesmerizing and would LOVE to see her shoe collection!!

7.  Today I am wearing  A heather gray tank top with braided trim, a green cardigan, jeans, and black patent flats. {see above photo}

Hello Casual Friday!!!

Happy Weekend Everyone!!!
Check back Monday for the full report on the
Bridal Fashion Show!! It's gonna be a doozy...

    In Other News . . .

    I just discovered not too long ago that one of my absolute favorite artists, Mr. Gregory Alan Isakov, is performing right here in my very own town... just a mere 5 minute drive from my apartment.

    are you kidding me?!?!
    I'm so there...

    Don't know who he is?
    Never heard his beautiful music that makes you want to have a midnight picnic with wine and a blanket staring at the stars? Hmmmmmmm perhaps you should check him out... and fall in love, just like me.
    He is beautiful isn't he? His music is even more so...

    June 12th couldn't come soon enough.

    MAC Party recap . . .

    Last night was the MAC To the Beach Release Party... It was incredible!!! There was so much to look at and try... All the new makeup line has Limited edition packaging in lime green and coral cases with little shell decals... So adorable. I wish I had taken photos, but the place was sooooooooo crowded last night, I'm certain my camera would have been destroyed in the madness.

    Basically it went down like this: We entered the party, and were given a 5x7 paper and a pen. Basically, we go in and try out all the products, and write down what we want to purchase. Oh, did I also mention there were shirtless male models handing out complimentary shell necklaces, beverages and appetizers? Yeah, I said shirtless... some had coral colored MAC tank tops on with white shorts, but many were shirtless... It was quite overwhelming to say the least.
    I bought waaaaaaay too much stuff last night. Five bright eyeshadows: An ocean blue frost, a bright purple frost, A rosy copper, a lime green frost, and a deep gold.
    I also found a gorgeous bronzer that is AMAZING... and this little miracle bottle of bronzer drops which you can mix in your foundations for an all-over glow or use as a highlighter... I'm in love.
    Since NONE of this stuff is available online yet (don't worry, it will be released at the end of the month) I will show you my own pics of the products I bought - and what they can do!!! (I haven't opened them out of their pretty packaging yet, but I will soon!!)

    So that was my night in a nutshell... not bad huh?

    Olive Turns 3 Today . . .

    It's my little munchkin's birthday today... yes, I am a crazy dog owner who celebrates her fur-child's birthday... I just love this little ball of fur so much.
    it seems like yesterday I picked her up from the breeder and brought her home.
    She's grown up into quite the little canine companion...

    Today I Feel . . .

    Anxious about my upcoming photo shoot I have to organize completely on my own...

    Relieved I have such loyal friends with such great photographic skills who are willing to be my photographer for said photo shoot...

    Unorganized. I feel like I don't ever have enough time to do all the things I need to do in one day...

    Amazed at the things I will be doing in the next few weeks for class. A MAC makeup line release party, a Bridal Fashion Show, A very scary photo shoot at a haunted house, and so much more!!!

    Like my luck is about to change. I feel like things are going too smooth lately, and I'm waiting for something to go wrong. It's like watching a horror movie when you know someone is about to get axed {pun intended} but you're not quite sure when that's going to happen...

    BUSY BUSY BUSY. I feel like the paper in my calendar is going to fall apart soon because of how much I've been writing in it...

    Excited to see an old friend on Wednesday.

    Disappointed that Monday came so quickly. I seriously had NO time to relax over the weekend... but it WAS a great weekend!!!

    ***********
    I just wanted to say I'm sorry if my posts haven't been that interesting lately. I've barely had time to sit and think about anything besides makeup or what I need to do for class, or work... I'm just a little hot-mess-stress-basket these days. Soon I will be back to my normal self... hang tight!!
    {the makeup inspiration for my upcoming photo shoot. diva style}

    SEPHORA : coming to Malaysia!

    Ladies & Gentlemen,
    the long await anticipation has finnaly arrive!
    yes, you saw the picture right-

    Sephora is coming to Malaysia.

    **
    i was asking Bryan the day before
    about the curiosity on Sephora in M'sia,
    he doesnt seem to know-
    but yesterday was juz a day away and he
    screamed telling me SEPHORA is COMING TO STARHILL.

    i thought i was dreaming, i ask him to widen the eyes before telling lies or
    just bang his head on the wall first.
    but it was true- i went online, search for SEPHORA M'SIA.
    and the artist impression has already been out!

    sexy!

    btw, im not sure how long we needed
    to wait for this to really happen, as its gonna
    be renovated soon, maybe 3 years? or maybe 4.

    hopefully, it open up soon!
    im already started to have the HAUL feeling.
