wonderful weekend: part one...

finally getting through the abundance of photos i took over the weekend... looking at them already makes me want to re-live that little adventure... my man is such a good surpriser, here's a little part of what he had planned for us that weekend:

day one {saturday}: 

wine tasting through malibu canyon

first stop, cornell tasting room

the best wine and the most beautiful 

tasting room i've ever seen

{cute little tavern restaurant next door}

next stop, lunch in malibu at rosenthal

it was a pretty awesome day... i was blown away at the thought he put into this trip, and how much fun we had just driving together and enjoying the scenery... {happy sigh}

and this was just saturday.

it's tuesday and my mind is still on vacation...

how awesome was the three day weekend?

i'm still adjusting to the fact that it's tuesday.

well, let me tell you, i had a fantastic weekend!!

and i know you're all wondering what the heck 

my mister had in store for me this weekend,

but i'm still editing the photos, and didn't think it would 

be fair to tell you without being able to SHOW you.

so tomorrow i will post about my lovely surprise

valentines-and-presidents-day mini vacation

photos included.

but until then...

here are a few to give you an idea of 

what my weekend consisted of...

awesomeness.

oh, and the mister asked if i was afraid of heights to throw me off the trail of what the surprise was. there were no heights to speak of... apparently i am a pretty good guesser, so he needed a diversion... thus, the heights question.

how was your holiday weekend???

fantasy burgers...

the other night i decided to pretend it was summertime.

even though in reality it was raining,

i made some home made slider burgers.

i ignored the fact that it was raining outside and

ignored the fact that these burgers would never even see a grill.

all i had was my emeril cast-iron skillet, some beef, and

the game on tv.... {saints vs. vikings}

it was only appropriate that burgers be made.

and oh-my-goodness were they delicious!!

especially when they're mini and on hawaiian rolls...

i always put avocado on my burger... mmmmmm

Olive never watched me cook with such interest before...

it must have been the smokey beef smell permeating through the apartment

i gave in to her cuteness... eventually.

these little morsels were probably one of the best things i've ever created.

thank you food network, for teaching me how to season meat.

amanda the birthday girl...

today is my beautiful friend amanda's birthday!

on saturday we celebrated her 24th with all of her closest friends

a CD release party...

remember way back when i mentioned a little tidbit

about going to a CD release party?

well i'm finally posting about it.

on january 9th 2010, our good friends from

Kyle Hunt & the King Gypsy 

had a little CD release party.

if only all of you could make it out to one of their shows

these guys are ridiculously talented...

sweet amanda brought them a cake...

at least someone enjoyed it...

all moved in...

well, i'm officially all moved in AND unpacked!

just in time for the rain... i can't believe i beat the

storm by one little day!  whew...

i just have to say, i love my apartment.

LOVE IT.

i feel so cozy and at home here...

Olive is still adjusting, but she's starting to like it too.

as long as she can perch on the couch, she's content.
