my little alien...

one of my favorite disney animated movies that i can watch over and over is Lilo and Stitch. there's just something about that movie that steals my heart every time... one thing i love about that movie is how adorable they made the character stitch... and how much little stitch resembles my little Olive.

every time i walk Olive i get such a variety of comments.

many of them just three words, "look! it's stitch!"

other comments include references to gizmo from gremlins,

the alien dog from Men in Black,or even the creature from ghostbusters.

she definitely draws attention.

i guess she kinda does look more like an alien than a dog,

but that's what i love about her.

in fact, it just makes me love that little munchkin even more.

little tidbit #21...

pulling shredded cheese out of the fridge,

discovering the package was open,

causing cheese to spill all over the floor.

and before i could put the half-empty cheese bag on the counter

the-vacuum-named-Olive was there to the rescue,

nibbling away... taking care of the cheesy mess.

if she could talk, i would imagine she would have said:

" is that cheese on the floor? don't worry mom, i got this."

thanks Olive. you're a champ.

a silly story of sorts...

almost every morning i make instant oatmeal for breakfast.

yesterday i ran out, so i went to trader joe's and bought more.

i brought the box to work today... and around 8:30, i got hungry.

i attempted to open the box.

the cardboard was strangely resistant to my prying fingers

i wondered, did they use superglue to seal this box... sheesh!

a piece folded, but the glue was still resisting me

my fingers slipped and i bent a nail... great.

i file down my nail, and try again.

finally, half of the box lid opens.

i continue to force my finger underneath the box to try

and release the remaining glue and cardboard.

why the heck is it so difficult to get in this box!

it's instant oatmeal for cryin' out loud...

it finally opens, and i feel victorious.

until...

i look at the box and realize...

i've been trying to open the bottom.

awesome.
